A theoretical approach to the water dragon as a descendant of the archosaurian lineage. In this case the coiled dragon , Vermisuchus lacustris, was depicted with some crocodilian characteristics, plus some extra features as the flaps of sensors on the sides of the mandible for detection of small hidden animals and navigation. The use of the barbels is similar to that of catfishes, for orientation and communication.
Wow thats awesome I have a Asian Dragon that almost resembles these "the jaws and scales mostly" I was using Crocodiles, Snakes and Spinosaurs as my visional bases.
That's creepy is I was just working on a crocodilian serpent daemon...and it looks a loooot like these. Must be the shared basis in the Chinese dragon, eh?
